LANDAU Evening School
Rules and Regulations
Come regularly, punctually, well-prepared and properly equipped.
Equipment:
- 1 checked A4 copybook for Maths, 1 lined A4 copybook for English. Additional copybooks on request.
- A dark blue or black ball-point pen for writing. *No gel or colour pens. **No correction pen.
- A lead pencil with an eraser for drawing; a ruler and highlighter on request.
- Any one of these electronic devises: a tablet, an iPad or a laptop. *Make sure you have an active e-mail.
- Cell phones are not allowed in class. Leave your phones on the reception desk before your classes start.
Discipline:
- Arrive at school, at least, 15 minutes before you lesson starts.
- Check Open School portal for homework and catch-up class work.
- Follow school and classroom rules.
- All forms of bullying, fighting and damaging other students’ property is a severe offence that leads to exclusion.
Communication:
- Read Bulk SMS messages please. Be kind to respond to the message whenever asked.
- Check Open School for comments, marks and letters.
- Use Open School as the initial source of communication with the teacher.
- Do not ask for LANDAU Evening School staff personal contacts please. Feel free to use our work emails or Pre Landau Office number instead.
- LANDAU Evening School formally communicates with parents in Azerbaijani and English. However, English, Azerbaijani and Russian are our operational languages.
- Attend Teacher-Parent conferences in order to thoroughly discuss your child’s progress with his/her subject teachers and LANDAU Evening School management if needed.
- Make an appointment with LANDAU Evening School Administrative Assistant in case you need to see the teacher or the management.
Academics & Behavior:
All new students are on a1-3-month trial during which they should show good effort and progress.
Students may get bonus points during the first three tests before their school admission exam. These bonus points will be added to their admission exam mark.
- Math & English average test score 80% and above gives 5% bonus
- Math & English average test score 90% and above gives 10% bonus
Parents receive a formal warning letter for their child’s repeated behavior or disciplinary problems. In case of a second or a severe offence, for example, fight, the student is excluded.
Health and Safety:
- Inform the office in case your child is going to be absent, late or leave earlier.
- Timely inform the office whether your child is allergic or has any other health impairments, e.g. diabetes.
- Inform the office whether your child needs to take medicine while at school.
- Inform the office in case another person is going to pick up your child. That person should produce his/her ID in order to pick your child up.

Payment:
- Use Kapital Bank terminals for paying fees.
- The payment should be done by the first lesson of every new month.
- The student will not be allowed to attend the second lesson of an unpaid month unless the fees are paid.
- The monthly payment is terminated only if a student is quarantined 2 or more weeks or operated.
Dear Students,
Sign up for 1.5 hour Saturday Bonus Classes!
- The 1st cohort of students is registered for Term 1 October-December;
- The 2nd cohort of students is registered for Term 2 January-Mart;
- The 3rd cohort of students is registered for Term 3 April-mid-June;
*Students may attend Saturday classes for more than one term, however the priority is given to those who have not participated previously.
100% attendance is expected.
In case a student is absent for 2 classes in a row or twice a month, he/she is taken off the class list for the whole term. However, the student may enroll to the class next term.
Students with the English test score below 50% are recommended to take Speaking classes.
Those with the score of 50% and above are offered a CLIL programme.
* CLIL stands for Content and Language Integrated Learning and refers to teaching subjects such as science, history and geography to students through a foreign language.
Students are encouraged to opt for either programme and participate actively in class. However, there is no formal assessment and bonus points.
Signing-up for Saturday classes is voluntarily.
To Candidates:
- The exam paper is in English; no translation is provided;
- The exam paper comprises of two papers: Paper 1 – Mathematics, 1 hour, and Paper 2 – English, 1 hour;
- No break time between Paper 1 and Paper 2;
- Candidates are not allowed to enter the exam hall 20 minutes after the exam starts;
- Candidates stay seated unless the official end of the exam;
- All forms of communication between candidates during exam are prohibited;
- Any sever violation of the exam regulations leads to disqualification;
- Candidates should come to the exam fully equipped;
- Write in dark blue or black ball-point pen;
- No correction fluid;
- Pencil cases and water bottles should be transparent;
- No dictionaries, calculators or any reference resources;
- No electronic devices such as phones, watches… etc. are allowed;
- Candidates may leave the exam hall for emergencies, with the invigilator’s permit and attendance/ participation;
- No penalties for corrections on the exam paper;
- The writings should be legible;
To Invigilators:
- Do not chat with each other or with the candidates;
- Do not use other languages but English (use your professional discretion when dealing with external candidates from local schools);
- Do not assist with, comment or translate the exam paper;
NB If any mistakes discovered, call Medina Mammadova to deal with it.
- Do not play/chat on the phone; play/work on the lap top/tablet; listen to music/chat on the air pods; check students’ work, etc. Be vigilant, please.
- Kindly ask your students to leave their bags and other possessions at a separate desk before the exam starts.
- Provide your students with scratch paper for drafting and calculations.
- Write on the board the exam date and the actual exam starting and finishing time.
- Make sure all candidates write their full name: given name, patronymic and family name.
